From Christmas onwards, when various events are held throughout the area, such as markets, concerts and shows, the annual events along the coast are marked by a combination of modern and efficient organisation and respect for local traditions.
A good example of this is the living nativity scene, as well as other countryside traditions like the “Berolon” and the “Regata delle Beroe” on the 5th and 6th of January. At the same time as the Venice Carnival there is a procession of allegorical chariots decorated by the various "Contrade" (districts).
The arrival of the warmer weather is always marked by the “Festa dea Sparesea” an asparagus festival, one of the many typical local products. In June the “Palio Remiero” is held, an exciting regatta which the 12 districts along the coastline compete in, with a lovely stretch that goes from Punta Sabbioni to Cavallino, passing through the Pordelio canal.
In July the Madonna del Carmine festival represents one of the strongest and most important local traditions, whereas in August the beaches along the coast are lit up all the way with the “Beach on Fire” firework display.
